Cheekbones: A Daydream
by Kenny Stewart

Being the nostalgic soul that I am, I often find it personally rewarding to contemplate the fleeting encounters which might transpire in a hypothetical world where everyone I have ever met lives within a 5-mile radius of one another. Whether this would be a good idea in practice is another story (it objectively would not be). Without any desire to actually manifest them, I notice that chief among these reflections is those which involve myself and former flames. Debatable though the point may be, I have no qualms about cherishing the good times of a relationship while simultaneously and selectively retaining the lessons learned from their demises.

This was written in the wake of a minor creative drought, originating as a dialogue exercise and continuing/finishing as a satisfying bite of closure for myself and any readers so inclined to taste it as such.

It's also worth noting that only a week ago I was audibly cursing at the excessive selection of water bottles at a gas station - a timeless struggle for a thirsty driver.

Teeths(?) Fairies: A Sugarcoated Lie Used to Reward Children for Inevitable Incidents Beyond Their Control
by Kenny Stewart

Sometime during my senior year of college, I became enamored with the concept of the absurd. The idea that nothing in this world necessarily contains any trace of logic and any attempt to contrive meaning from the incidents in our lives is futile struck a chord with me which continues to resonate to this day. Shortly thereafter I began jotting down buzzwords for story concepts to be developed, and among them were the words "gang of tooth fairies + drug addiction". It took me a couple of years to put pen to paper so to speak, but the above script is the result thereof.

For those curious enough to wonder, there is a larger potential storyline here in mind involving dentists as the suppliers for fairy cartels - though a feature-length screenplay felt like the wrong format. Who knows? Maybe one day I'll continue the scripts as a miniseries.

Bird Turd by Kenny Stewart

I haven't seen the majority of my early childhood friends for probably 3 years, if I were to put a number on the average length of time. Having recently caught up with one - a Mr. Ryan Melli - over SnapChat, I found out that he'd gotten a job working aboard a Carnival cruise as a youth club counselor for six months. After telling me he doesn't leave for a few weeks, I decided we should work together - I know Melli's been in some short films and sketches, so I figured why not collaborate with an old friend before he embarks?

While riding in the passenger seat of my current employer's truck, I had an idea for a sketch inspired by a spot of nasty bird poop. The sketch that resulted is above, and we plan to shoot it in the coming weeks - days even, if availability allows.

Send Crash Report? by Kenny Stewart

Mario hasn't heard from his girlfriend Quinn in 3 days, but she's supposed to come home from Washington DC today. But when Mario hears the news of a plane crash involving Quinn's would-be flight, he reaches out to anyone who might have information on her whereabouts.

This script was written as an exploration of the consequences of our reliance on electronic communication methods. Inspired by similar events, this script highlights the very real stress of being out of touch in an age of constant contact.

Traversing the Elements by Kenny Stewart

Garrett and Paul have decided to go camping, but they don't know all that much about the outdoors life. This leaves them with no other choice but to invite their "friend" Rod. However, an ominous undertone and bleakly-humorous occurrences keep coming up, and it seems there might be dangers in the woods none of the three could have known about.

This script was written after binging a slew of Coen Brothers films, and ultimately inspired by Fargo and No Country for Old Men.

I.F. by Kenny Stewart

Rudy is a quiet kid, who can't seem to find direction at this stage in his life. He manages to get through the days with the help of his meticulously selected playlist and the support of his friends - though their presence seems to be more and more inconsistent as of late. They don't have much going on in their lives besides the nagging stress of a put-off history paper and the standard collegiate Friday nights. The monotony is finally broken when a girl introduces herself into Rudy at a bus stop.

'Wonder where could this lead.'
